Between Two Fires

I get it, she's not always right,

But I'm not gonna argue, it's not worth the fight.

Even if she's wrong, she won't say so,

When I try to tell her, things start to blow.

She'd bring up the past, all she has done for me,

To make me feel guilty, like I can't disagree.

Then I to talk to him, try to keep it calm,

But he gets heated, and starts to drop the bomb.

I see the anger, it's all in his eyes,

No matter what I say, he won't compromise.

They're not bad, but they're not perfect, too.

She is great and he has his good, too.

But seeing them both, feels like a constant fight,

Like I'm always caught in a struggle, day and night.
